Product Review Validates Atlantis ILIO for XenApp Accelerates Performance with 53% Faster Provisioning and 77% Shorter Boot Times While Using 92% Less Storage
Atlantis Computing™, the leader in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) storage and performance optimization solutions, today announced the results of an independent product test performed by Citrix CTP and Microsoft MVP, Shawn Bass. The findings of the product review validate that the Atlantis ILIO for Citrix XenApp solution delivers 53% faster provisioning, 77% shorter boot times and a reduction in storage requirements by 92%. Based on the report by Shawn Bass, deploying virtualized Citrix XenApp workloads with Atlantis ILIO can accelerate XenApp performance, reduce storage requirements and increase density in an IO constrained environment.
Atlantis ILIO for XenApp is a software virtual machine that complements virtualized Citrix XenApp by accelerating performance, increasing server density and reducing the amount of storage required. Accelerating provisioning and boot times simplifies the management of XenApp by giving administrators the flexibility to refresh VMs more frequently with less downtime. By eliminating the IO bottleneck associated with running virtualized XenApp with SAN or NAS, Atlantis ILIO is able to increase density while delivering a better user experience.
Atlantis ILIO for XenApp Test Results Summary
In testing by Shawn Bass in a storage-constrained environment, Atlantis ILIO for XenApp was able to:
• Reduce provisioning time by 53%
• Reduce VM boot time by 77%
• Reduce storage requirements by 92%
• Provide 16% more XenApp sessions while delivering 30-100% faster response time as measured by LoginVSI
However, testing single server scalability isn’t enough to show the true value of Atlantis ILIO. To illustrate the benefits of Atlantis ILIO at scale, Shawn Bass conducted tests that maximized IOPS and throughput on the underlying storage. Atlantis ILIO for XenApp was found to:
• Increase IOPS by a factor of 60-100
• Increase disk throughput by a factor of 75
• Reduce perceived storage latency by a factor of 75
“Shawn Bass has been involved with some of the largest XenApp deployments in the world and the findings of this independent testing is further validation of the value Atlantis ILIO brings to the XenApp market,” said Bernard Harguindeguy, president and CEO, Atlantis Computing. “Atlantis ILIO will help anyone who wants to virtualize their XenApp to avoid performance problems related to storage and get the most out of their infrastructure.”
